Chocolate-Honey Moisturizing Lip Balm

Almost forgot, I've made a moisturizing, but also yummy lip balm. The previous picture has a darker, brownish pot of it. Here's the recipe:

Chocolate-Honey Moisturizing Lip Balm

  • 2 tablespoon of beeswax
  • 2 tablespoon of almond oil
  • 1/2 tablespoon of honey
  • 1/2 a tablespoon dark Belgian chocolate, or cocoa powder (the good kind, this goes on your lips, after all)
  • 1 tablespoon shea butter
  • 2 tablespoon cocoa butter
  • 1/2 tablespoon vitamin e

Same as before, you use the double boiler method and heat up everything in a  bowl save for vitamin-e. Once everything has melted and it's mixed properly, stir in the vitamin-e and pour out into the containers of your choosing.

Enjoy!

Try not to lick it off all the time, tho! :)

Extremely Moisturizing Homemade Lip Balm recipe

What have I been up to in the last few days?
Making homemade lip balm.
Sadly my lips get chapped an awful lot. Also, some lip balms don't work on me, probably because some of the ingredients don't do anything for my skin. One of them is coconut oil.

Coconut oil doesn't work for me, not at all. It leaves my lips chapped and dry with an oily film over them. So I decided to make my own lip balm.

Extremely Moisturizing Lip Balm

  • 2 tablespoons of beeswax
    1 tablespoon almond oil
  • 1 tablespoon shea butter
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa butter
  • 1/2 tablespoon vitamin-e (or about 3 squeezed out capsules)
  • a few drops of essential oil

It's a pretty straightforward process.

You use the double boiler method to heat up the first 4 on the list and stir it with a toothpick if you don't have a stirrer.
Once they've completely melted you need to stir in the vitamin-e and the essential oils and then quickly pour them into tubes or little containers.

You can buy these on Amazon, Etsy or in most Apothecaries. I'm pretty sure drogeries carry them too, or even bio/herb shops.

Also, I did try some of the recipes on the net first. Most homemade recipes say you need one part wax and 3 part oils to even it out, but I find that adding so many oils to such little wax make it extremely runny. I prefer my lip balm to be a thick balm and not a runny lip shine. Especially since it's NOT a lip gloss.

Of course, if you want a lip gloss , you can use 1 spoonful of beeswax instead and add a chunk of lipstick or the proper pigment you can purchase at some craft stores that sells lip balm making supplies.

So. I've been interested in tatting on and off. But all thanks to a stupid surgeon who mistook my parathyroid for my lymph node and removed it, my fingers go numb all the time. (Effects are irreversible and over here you can't even sue the surgeons...)

To make my fingers feel again, I took up tatting. Harmless little fun, yes? (Well, I got really into it and these are some of the things I ended up making.)

Some patterns are vintage, some are from Yarnplayer and Totusmel, one is from Spulni-blog.

Moving in

All right. Long time no see. I had cancer.

...uhh, yeah. Not like anybody reads this, but still. I had a reason, honest.

I also did some lacework and other random stuff I will be documenting, because why not. :)

So this will be my official blog, and I hope I will remember to keep it updated with things I do and will not whine because of the darned radio treatment, etc. Nobody needs to know about that, it sucks, period.

Soooo... I'll start with adding a ton of pictures and then... taking over the blog once again. :)

Earrings from leftovers

Yup, what the title says. Been collecting up my green and blue leftover delicas from other projects. And these are the results... in progress.

I really like colorful things, especially for summer, as my clothes tend to be rather dull. Black and white and gray mostly. So these look pretty hot... and boy, they are kinda huge, but oh well. They look pretty, don't they? ^^
Oh and the pink one is for Lilli. She likes pinks. A lot. And greens. :D

Not beads

So... I strayed from the beads once again. What can I say? They were an older passion of mine than even beads. And they are back in style! Wheee!
